This is an interesting and historical lot of genuine Nazi debt bonds or bearer bonds issued on 1 June 1939 by the Reichsschuldenverwaltung or Nazi State Debt Administration in Berlin.

Each 1-½ x 4 inch numbered coupon has a ¾ inch diameter embossed Nazi eagle and swastika in the white center, as well as a redemption date, redemption amount and expiration date. The owner (bond holder) of these Third Reich Zinsscheine redeemed the first years of 6 month debt interest coupons from all five sheets (1940, 1941, 1942, 1943 and 1944). The May and November coupons for the years 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948 and 1949 remain.

These five sheets of colorful semi-annual Nazi bearer bonds come in an original sturdy light green cardstock owner’s folder. These have an historical and collector's value only - it appears the German government stopped payment on all their bonds in 1945!
