Fallschirmjäger hier und da was written by Walter Gericke who was a Hautpmann of a Nazi Paratrooper Regiment. It covers the experiences of German Fallschirmjäger or paratroopers in a lively way, using plain, honest language so Fallschirmjäger hier und da could be enjoyed by everybody.

The foreword is by Generalfeldmarschall Erhard Milch who explains that Nazi paratroopers who saw action between Oslo, Dombas and Narvik in Norway and between Rotterdam and Dordrecht in Holland are now known around the world. Courageous, skillful, tenacious, an important part of the Luftwaffe, and of the future of Nazi Germany.

Fallschirmjäger hier und da is divided into chapters that tell individual eye witness stories of a first jump, training, fall maneuvers, action at Dombas in Norway, the capture of the strategically important Waalhaven of Rotterdam and bridge of Dordrecht in Holland in May of 1940, the shooting down of an enemy aircraft, a supply flight to Narvik, paratroopers at the Arctic Circle, and much more.

Fallschirmjäger hier und da was published by Schützen-Verlag of Berlin and this is a linen hardcover First Edition from 1941 that measures 5 x 7-½ inch and has 224 pages. In the back of the book is advertising for similar subject military books written in cooperation with actual members of the Wehrmacht, including Soldaten fallen vom Himmel also written by Hautpmann Gericke.

Nice used condition, tight spine, no odor and with a handwritten wartime dedication on the page opposite the title page.
